Associate Professor Samantha Hocking is an Endocrinologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and a Clinical Academic at the University of Sydney. She is the current president of the National Association of Clinical Obesity Services.

A/Prof Hocking completed her PhD studies at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research which investigated the metabolic differences between visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissue depots, and how accumulation of the former is related to insulin resistance.

A/Prof Hocking’s research interests are focused on the metabolic complications of obesity. In addition, she treats patients with obesity in one of the largest public obesity clinics in NSW.
