Dr Martyn Bullock

Dr. Martyn Bullock began his academic journey in Wales, earning a PhD from Cardiff University under Prof. Marian Ludgate, where he explored the role of FOXE1 in thyroid gland development. Subsequently, he moved to Australia for postdoctoral research at the Kolling Institute, University of Sydney, under Prof. Roderick Clifton-Bligh and Prof. Bruce Robinson. Dr. Bullock has authored over 30 publications in this field and received numerous awards, grants, and fellowships from organizations including the ESA, ATA, and AOTA. His current research encompasses three main themes: uncovering transcriptional networks implicated in thyroid tumour development, drug discovery targeting the mutated TERT promoter in thyroid cancer cells, and using circulating tumour DNA to assess the efficacy of targeted therapies in cancer.
