Professor Leonie Heilbronn

Professor Leonie Heilbronn leads the Obesity and Metabolism lab at the University of Adelaide, and based at SAHMRI. The goal of her lab is to develop dietary and behavioural strategies that optimse circadian and metabolic health to increase healthspan, prevent chronic disease and promote healthy aging in humans. Currently, her research focuses on caloric restriction (CR), intermittent fasting (IF) and time restricted eating (TRE) and the synergistic pathways through which these interact to create a platform for lifelong health. She has published more than 150 original research articles with more than 15K citations. She is the current President of the Australian New Zealand Obesity Society and an Associate Editor for the journal Obesity and for the European Journal of Endocrinology.
